This website is operated by Hope in Action, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 12-3456789). By using the website, submitting a form, or taking part in our programs, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
Donations
- Donations are voluntary gifts and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange unless stated in your receipt.
- We honor gift designations to a program or campaign. If a designated need is fully funded or no longer exists, we will apply the gift to the most similar program or to where it is needed most.
- Monthly gifts continue until you cancel. You can change or cancel a recurring gift at any time by contacting giving@hopeinaction.org.
- Employer matching gifts are subject to your employer’s program rules and approval.
Refunds & Cancellations
If you made a donation in error, contact giving@hopeinaction.org within 30 days and we will review your request. Refunded gifts are not tax-deductible, and a corrected receipt will be issued. Event registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days before the event unless the event listing says otherwise.
Volunteers
Volunteers serve without pay and are not employees of Hope in Action. Some roles require an orientation, a signed volunteer agreement, or a background check, especially roles involving children or vulnerable adults. We may decline or end a placement at our discretion, and volunteers are expected to follow our code of conduct and safeguarding policies.
Events
Event dates, venues, and programs may change. We will notify registered attendees of significant changes. Participation in physical events such as runs and service days is at your own risk, and photos taken at our events may be used in our communications unless you ask us not to.
Website Content
Text, photos, logos, and other content on this website belong to Hope in Action or its licensors. You may share our pages and quote short passages with attribution for non-commercial purposes. Please contact our media team at media@hopeinaction.org before reusing our logo, photos, or stories of the people we serve.
Acceptable Use
- Do not submit false information, impersonate others, or make donations with payment details you are not authorized to use.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, scan, or gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems.
- Do not use our forms to send spam, advertising, or abusive content.
Whistleblower Policy
We are committed to the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and members of the public are encouraged to report suspected fraud, misuse of funds, safeguarding concerns, or other wrongdoing.
- Reports can be sent confidentially to hello@hopeinaction.org with the subject “Confidential Report”. They are reviewed by our Board’s Audit Committee, not by the people involved.
- You may report anonymously. If you share your identity, we will keep it confidential to the extent permitted by law.
- We prohibit retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
- Urgent safeguarding concerns can also be raised through our emergency contact.
